Sports Injuries and Podiatry

Have you injured yourself while running, or twisted your ankle and finding recovery difficult? Step Up Podiatry can help! Our clinic is predominently injury based and we have excellent relationships with the local specialists and GP's.

At Step Up Podiatry, our wonderful team will be able to get you back up and running (literally) after a sporting injury. We treat not only the injury itself, but also the cause of the injury. For example, some people suffer from chronic achilles tendonitis, and this can be due to a problem such as one leg being longer than the other, or pronation (feet rolling inwards). We can provide a full biomechanical and footwear assessment and advise on the appropriate course of treatment.

Any sports injury is welcome at our clinc, and remember we have free follow up ACC appointments for any injury less than 1 year old! Bonus! You do not need to visit your GP before visiting us for a sports injury. Please allow one hour for your initial ACC appointment, and bring along all of your sports shoes too.

We can treat any of the following:

  • Achilles tendon pain

  • Calf muscle tears

  • Shin Splints

  • Stress Fractures

  • Ankle Sprains

  • Chronic Ankle Instability

  • Turf Toe

  • Open wounds and Bruises

  • Damaged Toenails

As part of our treatment as sports podiatrists, we do not only treat injuries. We are able to provide a full biomechanical assessment to assess any possible injuries you may be suseptable to. We can also improve running technique, provide a back to sport training schedule, provide a foot wear assessment and can reccommend a strengthening and conditioning programe.
