Verrucae/Plantar Warts

Verrucae are very common, especially in young children and adults who go to the gym/public swimming pools. They are caused by a virus and create a hard lump on the bottom of the foot. They are often confused with corns and callus. They are often very hard to remove with at home treatments and can spread if they are left untreated. If you suspect you may have a verrucae, our podiatrists will be able to diagnose them correctly and advise on the appropriate course of treatment.

Treatment for Verrucae can range from application of an acid or silver ntrate, to surgery.

Depending on the location and size of the warts, treatment can vary. Sometimes dietary supplements may be advised.
